We are pleased to announce Kimberly Munley will be our motivational speaker this year. Kimberly was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. She served our country in the United States Army and with the Wrightsville Beach Police Department and UNCW Vice/Narcotics. Kimberly was of the responding officers at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009. She along with other officers put an end to a mass shooting that left 13 people dead. She was an advocate to change the classification of “workplace violence” to “terrorism” in the Fort Hood massacre. In April 2015, the military victims received their Purple Heart awards. Kimberly, along with a civilian victim, received the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Defense of Freedom (the civilian equivalent to the Purple Heart).
We look forward to meeting and hearing Kimberly’s story during our annual conference in October.
